2.6 per mille of alcohol had a 40-year-old resident of Wronki, who hit the back of a police car when trying to stop the police. The man was arrested, as was the rowdy passenger.

On Sunday night, the police officers of the Wroniecka patrol paid attention to the driver of the Opel Omega. – The man was driving the entire width of the road in the vicinity of the roundabout on the street John Paul II in Wronki. Police officers gave the driver a signal to stop the vehicle, but he ignored the command and continued driving – explains Sandra Chuda, press officer of the Poviat Police Headquarters in Szamotuły.

When the police overtook the car near the bridge and tried to stop the driver, he hit the back of the police car.

The police prevented him from continuing. It turned out that a 40-year-old resident of Wronki was behind the wheel. He was clearly under the influence of alcohol. The police took him to the police station, where they checked his sobriety.

Driver and passenger arrested

It turned out that the 40-year-old had as much as 2.62 per mille of alcohol in his body. – The car he was driving was secured administratively, and the man himself was detained – Chuda reports.

The 40-year-old man was questioned on Monday and charged with failing to stop for a roadside inspection and driving while intoxicated. Polish law provides for up to 5 years in prison for the first offence, and up to 2 years for the second. “The investigation into the case is ongoing,” Chuda said.

The 40-year-old was traveling with a passenger who was also arrested. – The passenger behaved vulgarly – explains Chuda. After sobering up, he was punished with a fine.
