Two people died and three teenagers were injured in an accident that occurred on the road between Rozdrażewo and Dobrzyca (Wielkopolska Province). According to initial findings, the 31-year-old driver was to blame for the accident, forcing the right of way.
The accident occurred on Sunday before 6 p.m. in the town of Wyki in Krotoszyn County (Wielkopolska Province). Two cars collided on the road from Rozdrażewo to Dobrzyca. One of the cars flew off the road and hit a building.
Six fire brigades, an ambulance, and police were dispatched to the scene, and an emergency medical service helicopter also landed.
Injured teenagers
– A total of five people were injured in the incident, including two children. Unfortunately, after accessing one person from the damaged vehicle using hydraulic tools, the doctor present at the scene pronounced him dead. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed on the other person – reported junior captain Mateusz Dymarski, deputy press officer of the District Commander of the State Fire Service in Krotoszyn.
Unfortunately, the second injured person could not be saved. – Both fatalities were traveling in the same vehicle – Dymarski said.
A 31-year-old female resident of Ostrów County and an 80-year-old male resident of Ostrów County died in the accident. The second car was occupied by an 18-year-old and two minors aged 15 and 16. – All three were transported to the hospital – Dymarski said.
After the accident, the road was completely blocked. The circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the police under the supervision of the prosecutor.
– Initial findings indicate that the driver of the Peugeot vehicle failed to give way to a Peugeot vehicle and caused a collision between the two vehicles – says Paulina Potarzycka, deputy press officer of the Krotoszyn police.
