Wymyśly, Krasnosielc. Fatal hit of a cyclist near Maków Mazowiecki, perpetrator sought

Police officers from Maków Mazowiecki are explaining the circumstances of the tragic road accident in Wymysły. A 41-year-old cyclist who was hit by a passenger car driver died on the spot. The perpetrator of the accident escaped.

According to the police, the accident occurred on Tuesday, probably between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. in Wymysły, a village located in the Krasnosielc commune.

He hit and drove away

– Preliminary findings indicate that a 41-year-old cyclist on a straight section of the road, outside a built-up area, was hit by a passenger car traveling in the same direction. As a result of the collision, the cyclist died on the spot – said the police spokeswoman in Maków Mazowiecki, Assistant Commissioner Monika Winnik. – The perpetrator of this accident, the driver of a passenger car most likely an Audi A6, did not help the man and left the scene – added the spokeswoman.

At the scene of the accident, the police carried out activities under the supervision of the prosecutor, which will help determine the exact course of the event. – We appeal to all people with any information about this accident to immediately contact the Maków police at 47 70 47 200 or the emergency number 112 – said the policewoman.

Police are asking anyone with dash cams driving by at this location and time to review them. – Perhaps they recorded important elements that will allow us to determine the perpetrator of this road accident – explained Assistant Commissioner Winnik.
