Police officers from Praga Południe detained a 46-year-old man who broke into a house near Wyszków in front of their eyes. His loot included power tools. According to the police, the man has more similar crimes on his record. He was taken into custody.

– Police officers of the operational division from the property department receive information on an ongoing basis that may contribute to identifying the perpetrators of crimes. However, before such information is realized and specific persons are detained, officers spend a lot of time to establish, confirm their suspicions, observe and collect further evidence – explained Joanna Węgrzyniak, spokesperson of the Warsaw VII District Police Headquarters.

“He wanted to run away with the loot”

She informed that a few days ago, police officers in the vicinity of Wyszków detained a 46-year-old man who broke into a house in front of their eyes. Power tools, electrical wires and heat pump components were his loot. The man did not expect to fall into the hands of the police. He even wanted to run away with the loot, but he quickly ended up in a police cell, she noted.

At the time of his arrest, the 46-year-old was driving a car despite being disqualified from driving. – The officers seized the stolen items. Then they searched the places where the detainee had stored his earlier “gain”. Some of them have already been identified and returned to their rightful owners. The case is developing, the man has more similar crimes on his account, she said.

After the arrest, the 46-year-old was brought to the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office Praga-Południe, where he was charged with burglary, twice driving a vehicle contrary to a court-ordered ban, and receiving car wheels. The 46-year-old was temporarily arrested.
