On Thursday, the Treasury Department USA imposed sanctions on a group of individuals and entities for providing significant financial resources to the Houthi rebels.

Manifestation of solidarity with Palestinians in Yemen

Many locals Yemen supports the Palestinians in the conflict with Israel. On Friday, a demonstration of solidarity with the Palestinians took place in the Yemeni capital of Sana’a, in which – as reported by Reuters – several thousand people took part.

Participants in the rally carried large Palestinian flags and held up firearms, shouting slogans expressing support for the Palestinians. Yemenis also demonstrated support for armed actions against Israel in a similar way on Saturday.

Zaid al-Gharsi, a representative of the Houthi movement, condemned the war in Gaza, which he said was taking place “in an atmosphere of international silence, UN complicity and collusion of Western regimes led by America.”
