Polish women began to fight for the world championship with winning in the group stage. In the “B” group, the players of Krzysztof Rachwalski drew with Austria and defeated Thailand and South Africa. In the quarter -finals, Polish women won with Belgium, and in the 1/2 knockout phase they were better than Czech.
Great success of Polish women
In the grand finale, the Polish national team played with Austrians for the second time in this tournament. Amelia Katerla opened the result of the match in the third minute. In the next 37 minutes, mainly our goalkeeper Marta Kucharska glistened, who kept a clean account and led our team to victory.
– I can't even describe how we feel. I have adrenaline in my blood all the time and I think that only after some time it will happen that we won this title. Tears have already been poured and they will pour over again when we hear Mazurek Dąbrowski on a foreign land. And what? I must admit that we are world champions – said Monika Chmiel, a player of the Polish national team after the match.
