On Tuesday, August 6, GDDKiA announced that it has sent a tender notice for publication in the EU Official Journal for the design and construction of a national road to the first nuclear power plant in Poland. The power plant will be built in the Choczewo commune, and the route leading to it is designed along a completely new path and will connect the S6 currently under construction with the investment.

The tender details are to be made public within a few days. By the first Polish The nuclear power plant will be connected by a single-lane main expressway. The investment has been divided into two sections:
- Lubiatowo – provincial road no. 213 (approx. 11 km long),
- provincial road no. 213 – Łęczyce junction on S6 (approx. 15 km).
Additionally, as part of the currently implemented S6 route on the Leśnice – Bożepole Wielkie section, a connector will be built between the district road in Łęczyce and the S6 expressway, which will connect the new national road with the Łęczyce junction.
“New The route will connect the country's first nuclear power plant with the S6 expressway. The investment will increase the capacity of the communication system, relieve the local road network, and additionally shorten the travel time between the Tri-City and the seaside towns in the Choczewo commune” – informs GDDKiA. “In addition, the new national road will improve the safety of all users and reduce the negative impact of transport on the environment, including the living conditions of the local community (including lower noise levels, vibrations and the amount of pollutants emitted by transport)” – we read further.
Not just a road. The investment will also include sidewalks and bike paths.
As part of the investment, infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists will be built or rebuilt. Road safety devices will be installed and a storm sewer system and a technological channel will be built. Additionally, environmental protection elements will be constructed, such as animal crossings, ecological culverts with protective and guiding fencing and anti-glare screens. The surface will be adapted to the traffic of vehicles with an axle load of 11.5 tons.
In the case of the section from Lubiatowo to DW213, the contractor selected in the tender will have 18 months to complete the project wash (excluding the winter period from December 16 to March 15). We plan to sign the contract in the first quarter of 2025, so that construction can be completed in the second quarter of 2028.
In turn, the contractor of the route from provincial road no. 213 to S6 will have 22 months to complete the work (excluding the winter period from December 16 to March 15). We plan to sign the contract in the first quarter of 2025, so that construction can be completed in the third quarter of 2028.
