CVC Capital Partners, the owner of the Żabka Polska chain, wants the company to go public this year. According to Bloomberg, the company's valuation may reach up to $8 billion.

According to Bloomberg, the IPO in Warsaw, i.e. the first public offering of the company's securities addressed to investors, may have a value from USD 1 billion to even USD 1.5 billion.

The company would have be listed on the stock exchange in September this year. The agency's interlocutors noted that details about the offer, its value and schedule may change.

Żabka on the stock exchange in 2024

Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase were involved in the process. Bloomberg reported that the mentioned American financial holding companies refused to comment on this matter.

CVC acquired Żabka from Mid Europa Partners in 2017.

Żabka Polska runs a franchise network of grocery stores in our country. According to the information on the company's website, 8.8 thousand people cooperate with Żabka. franchisees who run over 10.3 thousand shops. The company was established in 1998.

The largest retail chains in Poland

Biedronka and Lidl are the largest retail chains in Poland, taking into account the amount of revenue in 2023. This is according to data collected by Forbes. The Biedronka chain, which belongs to Jeronimo Martins Polska, generated revenues of PLN 85.03 billion last year. This means an increase of almost a quarter (24.6%) compared to the situation a year earlier. The Biedronka chain has nearly 3,500 stores.

Lidl was in second place with revenues of PLN 33.37 billion, after an increase of 24.1%. Every year. The company has approximately 900 stores in Poland. Eurocash was classified at the lowest level – PLN 30.86 billion, an increase of 17.4%.

The Dino chain was also among the leaders, with 2,406 stores at the end of last year. In 2023, the company generated revenues of PLN 19.80 billion, after an annual increase of as much as 48.2%. This is the largest increase among the ten largest retail chains in Poland.

Żabka completed the top five largest retail chains in Poland.
