Early on Friday morning from the commune of Iłowa in the Żagań district in the province of Lubuskie, an ambulance took a 25-year-old woman to the hospital in a serious condition. Early Saturday afternoon, police announced that the victim had died in hospital where she had been staying for more than 24 hours. Her partner is suspected of severely beating the woman. A manhunt for the partner of a battered woman
“Due to the criminal nature of the case, the serious injuries of the victim and the suspicion that her 25-year-old partner may be responsible for the woman’s condition, officers from many Lubuskie commands quickly joined the action,” the police said.
The manhunt lasted for several hours. “The 25-year-old, who wanted to extend his freedom, was supposed to be hiding in the forest. Police officers cut off his potential escape route so that he would not pose a threat to bystanders. The cooperation of criminal, investigative and preventive services turned out to be crucial,” the release reads.
