The man was taken to hospital in serious condition. He died last weekend.
The District Prosecutor's Office in Zakopane has initiated proceedings concerning the beating of a man that took place on the night of August 1-2 in Volunteer Fire Department station in Biały Dunajec. As a result of the beating, the 25-year-old firefighter was taken to hospital in Nowy Targ in serious condition, where he died last weekend.
As Justyna Rataj-Mykietyn, spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Nowy Sącz, informed on Monday, the crime committed was classified as assault, however, “due to the man's death, the classification of the crime will change.”
– The case is currently under investigation, which means that no one has been charged yet – she added. In the interests of the case, the prosecutor's office is not providing information about the circumstances of the incident. The man's body has been secured for autopsy.
