Three men were charged in connection with the death of a 25-year-old martyred at Krupówki in Zakopane (Małopolska). The suspects were detained – a few days after the man was beaten – in Kalisz (Greater Poland).
The information about the detention of the men and the charges was confirmed on Monday by the prosecutor Rafał Porębski from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Zakopane. However, the investigators do not yet disclose other details of the interrogations and do not state whether the detainees have admitted to the alleged offense. Further activities with the participation of the three suspects are planned.
On Friday in Kalisz, the police detained five men suspected of participating in a fight in Krupówki and transported them to the prosecutor’s office in Zakopane. After questioning by the prosecutor, three men over the age of 20 were charged with participating in a fight, which ended tragically. The other two detainees were questioned as witnesses and heard no charges.
A tragic fight in Krupówki
To the tragic fights in Krupówki it happened on the night of September 11-12. Then a group of men attacked those celebrating the bachelor party. A brawl ensued, as a result of which the 25-year-old, most likely after a blow to the head, lost consciousness. The attackers fled. The entire event was recorded by surveillance cameras.
The 25-year-old went to the hospital. Doctors described his condition as life-threatening. The man died a few days later.
For beating, which results in the death of a person, there is a penalty of imprisonment from one to 10 years.
