This is another such act of aggression. Probably the most dangerous – this is how Dr. Paweł Grzesiowski, an expert of the Supreme Medical Council for COVID-19, talked about the arson in Zamość of the mobile vaccination point against COVID-19 and the sanitary facility building. – Until these people are identified and punished, we must have protection. More frequent checks by the police and city guards should now be directed just around the vaccination points. Especially where we have poorly secured vaccination points – he assessed.
On Sunday night in Zamość, an unknown perpetrator set fire to the Sanepid building and a mobile vaccination point. This was announced on Monday by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. The Minister of Health, Adam Niedzielski, awarded a prize of PLN 10,000 for help in identifying the perpetrator of the arson.
Grzesiowski on arson in Zamość: the border has been crossed
Dr. Paweł Grzesiowski, an expert of the Supreme Medical Council on COVID-19, commented on the attack from Zamość on TVN24 on Tuesday.
As he said, “this is another such act of aggression” – Probably the most dangerous. The border was definitely exceeded, because it was supposed to act as a deterrent against vaccinations – he assessed. He said that “it was a true night action, so the arsonist must have been aware that there were probably no people there, but this is a provocation that aims to scare people.” – I think it is calculated for such an effect. Scare the medics, scare the patients. Scare away from vaccination points, he added.
According to Grzesiowski, this is not a one-off event. – It is rather an organized action, because we already have five such events in the last week. This is not a coincidence – he said.
He stressed that “until these people are identified and punished, we must have protection.” – More frequent checks by the police and city guards should now be directed just around the vaccination points. Especially where we have poorly secured vaccination points – added the NRL expert.
Grzesiowski: there should be more frequent patrols of the services
He said that “the first thing is to reach out to the animators of this movement.” – I believe that this is an absolutely planned action from the beginning to the end. This is indicated by both the frequency and the spread (of the attacks – ed.) In various places in Poland. These are teams of several people. Colleagues say that a bus just pulls up and people who are prepared for this action are popping up – said Grzesiowski.
He added that “it is a task for the services to find those who are organizing these attacks, punish them and restore safety at vaccination points, that is, send police patrols there more often to make us feel safer.”
He added that “at the moment, patients who, for example, stand in the line in front of the vaccination point, and the staff who are in the middle of the vaccination point, cannot feel safe.”
