Police officers detained a 23-year-old man suspected of possessing over 150 grams of mephedrone in one of the apartments in Zamość (Lubelskie Voivodeship). The man’s 18-year-old partner threw drugs out of the window, she did the same with the electronic scale used to portion them.

On Tuesday (March 7), police officers entered the apartment of a 23-year-old from Zamość, whom they knew might have drugs. There was also an 18-year-old partner of the man inside, who, seeing the policemen, threw four bags of mephedrone (over 150 grams in total) out of the window. She did the same with the electronic scale used for dosing drugs.

The police seized the mephedrone bags and detained the couple. Both of them have already been charged by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Zamość.

The 23-year-old will be charged with possession of large amounts of drugs. The court agreed with the investigators’ request and placed him under temporary arrest for three months, Dorota Krukowska-Bubiło, a staff officer from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Zamość, informs in a press release.

Possession of significant amounts of drugs is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

The 18-year-old was also charged. The woman will be charged with covering up traces of a crime, which is punishable by up to five years in prison, the policewoman points out.
