A 29-year-old man died at the scene after he veered into the opposite lane and hit a bus carrying preschoolers. As a result of the incident, five people, including four children, were taken to the hospital. The road in Zalesie near Zamość (lubelskie province) was blocked for several hours.
The accident happened on Tuesday (February 28) just before 2 p.m. in Zalesie near Zamość. The services were informed about a collision between a passenger car and a bus carrying children.

– From the preliminary findings of the officers working at the scene, it appears that the driver of the Rover car drove to the opposite lane of the road and led to a collision with a bus driving in the opposite direction – describes the junior aspirant Kamil Karbowniczek from the police in Zamość. The police officer added that as a result of the accident, the 29-year-old driver of the passenger car was trapped in the car. – The fire brigade was called to the scene, which had to use specialized equipment to extricate him from the vehicle. The man died on the spot, Karbowniczek reported.

According to police, the driver of the bus that was hit by the car was not injured. There were seven children and a babysitter in the vehicle. Five people, including four preschoolers, were taken to the hospital for evaluation. The police breathalyser test showed that the 42-year-old driver of the coach was sober. The road at the accident site was blocked for several hours. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the police under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office.
