Former Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General Zbigniew Ziobro appeared on Monday at a press conference in front of the Prime Minister's office. He was accompanied by PiS politicians. This is Ziobro's first public appearance in a long time. The former Minister of Justice struggled with illness.
– Today I decided to meet with you in front of the Prime Minister's office because something extremely sad has happened and has far-reaching consequences for the Polish state and the Polish rule of law, the effects of which we will only see. They will be revealed in the near future, in the distant future – said Zbigniew Ziobro before the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.
As he explained, it was about an “unlawful attack on the office of the national prosecutor, which was carried out by Minister Bodnar and Prime Minister Donald Tusk.”
“I feel better, definitely”
When asked whether Monday's conference meant a return to public and parliamentary life, Ziobro replied that it would happen “gradually.” – I am still undergoing intensive rehabilitation. I feel better, definitely, as you can see. I can now speak quite freely, although with some difficulties, said Ziobro. – I feel better, but unfortunately I cannot say that I have fully recovered yet. This is a process that will continue, he noted.
He expressed gratitude to the doctors who helped him regain his voice. – It seemed that my left vocal cord was completely paralyzed as a result of surgery for cancer that was affecting various areas of my esophagus. It turned out that what seemed impossible, that I would never regain my voice, became possible thanks to their work and extraordinary qualifications. I could meet with you today in connection with this – said Ziobro.
He also thanked all Poles who showed him “words of support and prayers.” “I will never forget this,” he declared.
This is Ziobro's first public appearance in a long time. The former Minister of Justice was struggling with cancer. Last week in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24, MichaÅ‚ Wójcik, former deputy minister of justice, acting vice president PIS announced that “If nothing unexpected happens, Zbigniew Ziobro will return to public life in December.”
