– If Marshal Szymon Hołownia and his group do not support the zero percent loan project, the chance that it will be implemented decreases dramatically – said Finance Minister Andrzej Domański in a radio interview on Monday.

The head of the Ministry of Finance, asked on Monday on Radio Zet whether the zero percent loan project would be adopted, replied that it depended on the support of the entire coalition that forms the current government.

– The chances for a zero percent loan decrease dramatically if Poland 2050 does not support it – said Domański. He added that currently the proposal in this matter “is being consulted and is still a project on which work is in progress.”

The Minister of Finance was asked about the numerous restrictions introduced in the draft law on the zero percent loan compared to those introduced by the government PIS A safe loan of 2 percent, he replied that “many families can still benefit from it.”

In his opinion, discussions about the real estate market should focus on the supply side, i.e. on delivering apartments to the market. – We need to create new solutions so that more apartments are built in Poland – he explained. He added that it is primarily about releasing land that is often ineffectively used, as well as creating financial tools for local governments that will help build more apartments where they are really needed, said the head of the Ministry of Finance.

Moreover, in his opinion, providing more apartments to the market will limit further increases in real estate prices. – These prices have increased significantly in recent years. That is why it is so important to focus on building more of these apartments, he said.

Hołownia and Gawkowski about Zero Percent Loan

On Saturday, the Speaker of the Sejm and leader of Poland 2050 Szymon Hołownia he stated that “no more programs like Safe 2 percent credit, which enriched developers in metropolises and led to price increases throughout Poland.” As he pointed out, this also means opposition to the government program providing for the possibility of taking out a loan with zero interest.

– Poland 2050 will not support this idea. Instead, we will vote for support for social housing construction, he announced.

Earlier, in mid-May, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski (Left) was asked in a radio interview whether it might be that the zero percent loan would end up in the trash, he replied: – It may be that it will not exist and will be replaced by something else . I don't know what the formula will be because the work is ongoing in the Ministry of Development.

Zero percent loan. Project in consultations

At the beginning of April, the Ministry of Development and Technology submitted for consultation a draft mortgage subsidy program, known as “Apartment for starters”.

In the case of a mortgage loan granted to one- and two-person households without children, the aim of the subsidies will be to reduce the interest rate to 1.5%. If there is one child in the household, the subsidy will reduce the interest rate to 1 percent, in the case of two children – to 0.5 percent, and in the case of three or more children – to 0 percent. The promise to introduce a loan with a 0% interest rate. for the purchase of the first apartment was one of the elements of “100 specifics for 100 days of government” – the electoral program of the Civic Coalition co-forming the current government. In turn, the Left announced the construction of 300,000 modern apartments for cheap rent in the years 2025-2029 “as part of the National Housing Program.”
