An accident at a pedestrian crossing in Zgorzelec in Lower Silesia. A cyclist was hit by a passenger car. According to the police, the cyclist “invaded” the crossing.
A dangerous incident occurred on Friday at around 1 p.m. on Kościuszki Street in Zgorzelec. On a marked pedestrian crossing without traffic lights, a passenger car hit a cyclist.

The dangerous situation was recorded by a surveillance camera. The footage shows a cyclist riding on the sidewalk turning towards a pedestrian crossing. Cars are traveling on the street in both directions. However, the man does not seem to notice that the vehicle on his left is not braking. He enters the crossing and is immediately hit. After the collision, the car quickly stops.
As Senior Constable Amelia Owczarek from the Zgorzelec traffic police told TVN24, “a cyclist invaded the pedestrian crossing.”
– The police officers working at the scene determined that the cyclist was the perpetrator of the collision, he went to the hospital and was examined, but nothing happened to him. Both the person driving the passenger car and the person on the bike were sober – Owczarek said.
