It was supposed to be a routine check, but it ended in a spectacular chase. The policemen from Zielona Góra detained a 20-year-old who was escaping from a patrol and committed several offenses along the way. The daring escape of the driver was recorded by a video recorder.
“Speed” policemen are officers who deal with combating road piracy. This was also the case on Friday, when a patrol from Zielona Góra (Lubuskie Province) was watching over the safety on expressway number 3. On their way, the policemen met a 20-year-old Audi driver. – After the first attempt to be stopped for a roadside control, he began to run away from the officers. The driver did not react to the light and sound signals and continued to run away in the direction of Sulechów. At the same time, he posed a threat to other road users and committed further offenses: he was driving at a speed of up to 250 kilometers per hour, he repeatedly overtook cars on the right side, driving in the emergency lane – reports Marcin Maludy, spokesman for the Lubuskie Police.

Police: abandoned the car, left the passenger
The 20-year-old’s sin list is long. The man – according to the police – was overtaking other vehicles and forcing the drivers from the opposite direction to leave the emergency lane. During one of such maneuvers, he barely avoided a collision. He did not even slow down when he entered a small town. The 20-year-old did not stop, he passed the village of Brzezie, and then headed towards Sulechów. – Escaping, at some point he turned to North Street and here he ended his journey, leaving the car on a dirt road. When the officers arrived at the scene, they found witnesses who showed the uniformed drivers the way to escape. An 18-year-old passenger, a resident of the Greater Poland Voivodeship, remained in the car, said Maludy.
Over 30 offenses
The stopped driver is a 20-year-old from Żary. It quickly turned out that the man was banned from driving and was wanted by the prosecutor’s offices in Żary, Wrocław and Lesko.
– The man will be responsible for failure to stop for inspection, violation of the court order and committing multiple offenses. The police counted over 30 of them, adds the spokesman.
According to the Criminal Code, crimes committed by a man are punishable by imprisonment from 3 months to 5 years. It is already known that separate proceedings will be initiated in connection with the offenses he committed while escaping from the police.
