The firefighting operation of the landfill in Przylepa near Zielona Góra will certainly take many hours – said on Saturday evening the head of the Lubuskie State Fire Service, Brigadier Patryk Maruszak. He added that the fire brigade is preparing for the castling of tired rescuers.
During the evening press conference in Zielona Góra, the head of the Lubuskie State Fire Service, nadbryg. Patryk Maruszak informed that additional fire brigade forces from other provinces have already arrived at the site, there are also units that will monitor the state of the air. He also added that cooperation is being carried out with the Provincial Inspectorate for Environmental Protection and the police.

– The firefighting action promises to be long-lasting, it will certainly last for many hours, we are preparing for the castling of tired rescuers – he said. He noted that for the safety of people participating in the action, the activities are carried out with the use of lifts and ladders, and firefighting planes also participated in it until dusk. “If necessary, they will resume operations from the morning,” he said.

During the conference, it was also reported that farms that have private wells should refrain from using them, and people moving around should use masks.
Chemical warehouse fire
A hall is burning in the town of Przylep near Zielona Górawhere hazardous substances were stored. Marshal of the Lubuskie Voivodeship Elżbieta Polak emphasized that it is a very large warehouse of hazardous waste. – Nobody knows what is there, it all looks very dramatic, a very big threat – she said on TVN24. She assured that hospitals are on standby, the ambulance service is also strengthened, and two ambulance teams are available.

According to firefighters, there were about 5,000 cubic meters of stored material in the hall. Not all substances are identified.
