In 2007, she brilliantly played Maria Wafel in the comedy “Ryś” directed by Tym.

– I put a lot of work into this role. I even had to learn to speak and sing in Chinese. I remember days when he was painstakingly directing me, and I loved it. I’m an actress who tries to have her own ideas, but I love being directed. My role is very well written. If he hadn’t given me that Waffle, I could have played the smallest cameo role. And I would be happy too – said Merle in an interview for “Viva!”.

The actress kept a distance from herself and her profession. In an interview with “Viva!” she says: – I am a professional entertainment girl. I never felt that I had a mission, that I was carrying a lamp. Let people take important things out of the house. We should give them joy. There are authorities for great things, and Merle is for making people laugh. And deep down, I’m a housewife who earns money as an actress.

The actress passed away after a long illness on Wednesday in Warsaw, at the age of 85.
