At the beginning of November, in Żórawina near Wrocław, someone shot at a suburban bus standing on the bus terminus. The bullet pierced the side window on the driver’s side while he was resting in the seat. Police detained a 28-year-old suspected of shooting at the vehicle. The man heard the charges and faces up to five years in prison.
On Tuesday evening, November 2, bus 903 of the Lower Silesian Bus Lines stood at the terminus in Żórawina. The driver had a break, rested in his seat before the next course. At one point there was a bang. Someone shot the side window. The glass shattered, but luckily it didn’t shatter. There was a bullet hole or a pellet in one place.
According to the bus driver’s account, immediately before the incident, he saw two people in the vicinity, who had fled after the sound of the gunfire. Technicians in the field of ballistics worked on site. Monitoring has been secured. A spokesman for the Wrocław police said that it was most likely one of those two people who were standing a dozen or so meters from the bus, pulled out an object resembling a pneumatic pistol and fired a shot. After several days of intensive work, the person was detained.
Suspect in the hands of the police
– The police officers conducted operational activities aimed at recreating the course of this event, as well as identifying people who were directly related to it. As a consequence, the 28-year-old was arrested, and then, in cooperation with the Volunteer Fire Department and employees of the Żórawina commune, a gun was found in a nearby water reservoir. Subsequent actions confirmed that it was used by the suspect.
On Wednesday, the man heard allegations of property damage and exposure to immediate danger of loss of life or serious damage to health. He is facing a sentence of up to five years in prison.
