This year, the so-called fourteenth pensions will reach seniors in September. But some will receive them earlier, at the end of this month – said Paweł Żebrowski, spokesman for the Social Insurance Institution. This year, almost nine million pensioners and retirees will receive the “fourteenth pension”.
Another additional annual cash benefit for pensioners and annuitants has been permanently entered into the beneficiary's payment calendar since last year. The month of payment is determined each time Council of Ministers in a regulation issued no later than 31 October of a given year.
– This year the so-called the fourteenth will be paid in September. Some seniors will get it earlier, the spokesman said. Social Insurance Institution Pawel Zebrowski.
As he recalled, the fourteenth pension will be paid ex officio. You will not need to submit any applications.
– Those entitled will receive it together with their pension, disability pension or other long-term benefit. It will be transferred together with the benefit due for September. Since September 1 this year falls on a Sunday, people who should receive the benefit on that day will receive it earlier, ZUS will pay the money on Friday, August 30 – he added.
How much will the “fourteen” be in 2024?
This year “The “fourteenth” in its full amount will amount to PLN 1,780.96 grosswhich is the current minimum pension. The full amount can be counted on by people whose basic benefit, e.g. pension, disability pension does not exceed PLN 2,900 gross.
In the case of people with the main benefit between PLN 2,900 and PLN 4,630.96 gross, the benefit will be reduced according to the principle of zloty for zloty. For example, for a pension of PLN 3,500 gross, the benefit will be due in the amount lower by PLN 600, i.e. PLN 1,180.96 gross.
These people will not receive the fourteenth pension
However, the benefit will not be granted if the amount of the fourteenth pension is lower than PLN 50. This means that The “fourteenth” will not be received by persons whose pension or disability benefit is higher than PLN 4,630.96 gross.
“The 14th pension will also not be received by people with a benefit whose payment will be suspended on the day of the examination of the right to the 14th pension (August 31, 2024), e.g. due to exceeding the limits of earning extra money,” it was explained.
As ZUS reminded, the benefit will be free from deductions, e.g. bailiff's seizures. It will not be included in income when applying for social assistance, alimony or 500+ for dependents. Only the health insurance contribution and the advance payment on income tax will be collected from the benefit. A pensioner who receives the minimum benefit (PLN 1,780.96 gross) will receive a total of two payments in the amount of PLN 3,114.35 net.
The “Fourteenth” will be paid to approximately 8.9 million retirees and pensioners, including 6.4 million people who will receive the full payment (the amount of the minimum pension) and 2.5 million people who will receive a lower amount due to the amount of the benefit they receive exceeding PLN 2,900 per month.
