Fraudsters impersonate the number of the Social Insurance Institution and ask customers to enter their details. ZUS reminds that consultants do not call to change phone numbers to an account on the Electronic Services Platform (PUE) of ZUS, or to change phone numbers used in communication with banks.

ZUS receives signals about the so-called telephone spoofing. It consists in impersonating any number or contact name. While the recipient’s phone displays the information about the caller or sender, someone else is actually calling or writing. In this way, fraudsters more and more often impersonate bank consultants or representatives of offices.

ZUS warns against frauds

– In recent days, we have received reports from clients informing that they had received calls from the ZUS hotline number 22 560 16 00 (displayed on the client’s phone), where a person asked in broken Polish whether the client confirms the change of the phone number to the PUE account and whether he / she has inform the banks about the change of the telephone number – informed ZUS spokesman Paweł Żebrowski.

He stressed that ZUS hotline consultants do not call customers to change phone numbers to an account on the Electronic Services Platform (PUE) of ZUS or change phone numbers at banks.

– In line with our standards, when it is necessary for a ZUS employee to contact a client, our consultants introduce themselves by providing their first and last name and provide substantive information, usually related to the client’s question – Żebrowski pointed out.

He emphasized that these connections may also refer to a summons to control a sick leave or are related to a specific client’s case conducted at ZUS. – We do not change the telephone number used to authenticate the customer in the system in this way – he added.

The spokesman for ZUS appealed not to disclose your login details to PUE ZUS to anyone.
