At the Krakow cemetery at Salwator, the funeral of professor prof. dr. hab. Eng. Zygmunt Kolenda, academic teacher and oppositionist of the PRL.
The funeral took place on Monday at 13:00 at the Salvator Cemetery in Krakow. Holy Mass preceded him.
From 1962, Zygmunt Kolenda was associated with the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow. He co -founded the Department of Non -Ferrous Metal, of which he was the dean. From 2006, he was a retired professor at the Faculty of Energy and Fuels of AGH.
The scientist's death was informed, among others, by the Silesian University of Technology, whose Kolenda was an honorary professor.
“The deceased was a reviewer of many doctorates, habilitation and professor's conclusions of our university employees. On the list of co -authors of his 150 publications, employees of the Silesian University of Technology appear over twenty times,” the university wrote. The communiqué also reminded that the scientist was an active member of the Polish Academy of Skills and many national and foreign scientific and professional associations.
Husband and father
He collaborated with Solidarity, as a result of which in 1981 he lost his dean's position at AGH.
As the Sunday guest reminds, after the Holy See published “a report on institutional knowledge and decision -making processes of the Holy See in relation to the former cardinal Theodore McCarrick”, regarding cases of pedophilia in the Catholic Church, Kolenda became one of the signatories of Polish scholars in defense good name of John Paul II.
He was the husband of physician Małgorzata Kolenda and father of journalist Katarzyna Kolenda-Zaleska.
