Żyrardów. A rescuer beaten at the police station

In the waiting room of the District Police Headquarters in Żyrardów, a man to whom an ambulance was called attacked a paramedic. The injured party has serious facial injuries and has undergone two surgeries.

The beating at the police headquarters took place at the beginning of February.

The man’s brother called the emergency medical team. The report showed that he suffered from mental problems. He allegedly threatened his loved ones.

When the ambulance arrived, both brothers were in the waiting room at the main entrance to the district police headquarters. As we found out, they were waiting to talk to a policeman and were supposed to report a crime in a family matter.

The attack took place at the headquarters

According to our information, the attack was recorded by police surveillance cameras.

– During the examination, one of the rescuers was attacked by the man he was helping. The policemen who saw this ran out of the duty room (located next to the waiting room – ed.) and overpowered the attacker – says Patrycja Sochacka from the police in Żyrardów. – A second emergency medical team was called to the scene and the detained 53-year-old, accompanied by the police, went to the hospital – adds the policewoman.

The injured rescuer required medical assistance. – The police are conducting proceedings in connection with the violation of the inviolability of a public official by a patient and bodily injury – confirms Patrycja Sochacka.

For beating a paramedic, a man faces a penalty of up to three years in prison.

The lifeguard cannot work

The injured rescuer worked at the ambulance station in Grodzisk Mazowiecki. He underwent two surgeries and has a long rehabilitation ahead of him. Due to his injuries, he cannot return to work for now.

Colleagues from work to help the injured person who is also in a difficult financial situation, They started a collection on the Internet.

“The reality of the work of a Polish paramedic is currently such that most of us work on a so-called contract, i.e. a civil law agreement, which means that if we do not work, we do not earn money,” we read in the description of the collection.

The injured party asked to remain anonymous.

By Friday evening, 125 people had donated money “to help an injured paramedic”, which helped raise just over PLN 7,600.
