He wanted, as he explained, to react after a quarrel with a girl. He fired a pneumatic weapon at eight bus shelters in the Żyrzyn commune. The losses were estimated at PLN 40,000. The 22-year-old has already heard the charges and is facing up to five years in prison.
The policemen from the police station in Kurów received information about the destroyed shelters in the second half of August. According to the notifier, a representative of the Żyrzyn Commune Office, an unknown perpetrator had destroyed eight trained bus shelters in the following towns: Żyrzyn, Strzyżowice, Kośmin, Borysów and Osiny. The starts were estimated at PLN 40,000. During the inspection of these places, the policemen found that the shelters were most likely shot with pneumatic weapons.
He faces up to five years in prison
A few days later, the policemen from Kurów determined that the perpetrator might be a 22-year-old resident of the Żyrzyn commune. They secured him an air rifle and then questioned him as a suspect, accusing him of property damage. The 22-year-old confessed. He explained that he did it because he wanted to react after an argument with the girl.
It will be a painful and costly ‘rebound’ for him. He is facing up to five years in prison. The necessity to cover the costs of repairing the shelters will also not be avoided.
