Members of the heavy metal band appeared on Wednesday's “Wstańsz i pozna” to talk about their music and the lessons they learned from playing for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.
Rafał Wojda's guests in the Christmas edition of “You get up and know” were guitarist Rafał “Kazon” Kazanowski and vocalist Krzysztof Sokołowski of the band Nocny Kochanek, which has been performing during the finals for many years The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.
Krzysztof Sokołowski, as a former English teacher at school, answering the question about what WOŚP taught him, stated that “the audience was not necessarily always open to heavy metal sounds.” He added that despite this, it turned out that “at the end of the concert, everyone or the vast majority was satisfied.”
– When we went on stage, we had to realize that we had exchanged a tight club for slightly larger spaces – he emphasized.
“Love has many names”
The band's songs also include unconventional ones, such as “Kacper, Andżej i Baltazar”, which is an original heavy metal Christmas carol, or the romantic “Horse on the White Knight”.
– When someone asks us where the lyrics of Nocny Kochanek come from (…), we say that the lyrics are simply about love – said the band's vocalist. As he noted, “love has many names.” – And we try to convey this love in our texts – he added.
– We will play everything, but we will try to smuggle heavy metal into it – said Robert “Kazon” Kazanowski. The guitarist noted that “just playing concerts gives you an incredible amount of energy.” – It's nice to be part of such a large initiative that has been operating for so many years and is growing more and more – he added, talking about playing for WOŚP.
