The car collided head-on with an American military vehicle near Bolesławiec.

On Thursday afternoon, near the town of Świętoszów (Lower Silesia), a passenger car collided head-on with an American military vehicle, the Bolesławiec fire department reported. The driver of the passenger car was injured and was transported to hospital by LPR helicopter.

“On July 18, 2024, at 11:51 a.m., the SK KP in Bolesławiec received a report of a road accident involving a US military vehicle,” the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec posted on Facebook.

When the units arrived at the scene, “it turned out that there had been a head-on collision between a Volkswagen Passat passenger car and a military vehicle”. The incident occurred “before Świętoszów” (Lower Silesian Voivodeship).

One person injured

“Gazeta Wrocławska” reported that Senior Constable Daria Lebiedzińska from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec informed her in a conversation that “a 63-year-old resident of the Osiecznica commune, who was driving a passenger car, drove into the opposite lane for unknown reasons”. “In this way, he caused a head-on collision with a US Army vehicle, in which two soldiers were travelling. One person was injured”, she added.

The injured person is the driver of the passenger car, who – as she said – “was taken by the Air Ambulance helicopter to the hospital in Zielona Góra”.
