An older and exhausted dog was found in the river under a bridge by a Krakow resident. The weak quadruped was pulled out of the water by inspectors from the Krakow Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Now they are looking for its owner.
The Krakow Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (KTOZ) received a report on Thursday morning about a dog lying in the river at Krzyżańskiego Street on the border of Krakow and Wrząsowice.
As Joanna Repel from KTOZ told us, the quadruped was in quite good health, but it got into quite a bit of trouble from which it could not get out on its own. The animal was lying on stones in the shallow Wilga, and on both sides of the trough there were steep climbs, which the animal most likely could not climb.
The dog was lying in the Wilda River
– He was stuck there. He was lying practically without contact. The caller even thought the dog was dead, but when she went down to him, he opened his eyes but didn't even raise his head. We didn't know how he would react when we tried to lift him, but he was completely resigned – Repel reports.
The dog, named Kraul by inspectors, was likely disoriented. It is not known how long he had been in the water, although he was not severely hypothermic.
– Perhaps no one threw the dog out, it just slipped out of the house and wanted to drink water, and couldn't get back up. We're looking for the owner. We hope someone will come for him – said the KTOZ representative.
