Tragic accident on national road 81 in Drogomyśl near Cieszyn (Silesia). A 64-year-old pedestrian died under the wheels of a van. According to the police, the man went directly under the moving car. He did not have any reflective elements.
The incident occurred on August 1 after 9 p.m. The services were informed about a pedestrian hit on national road 81 in Drogomyśl near Cieszyn. Police, a medical rescue team and the fire department went to the scene.
He had no reflectors and went directly under the car.
– According to initial findings, a 64-year-old resident of Cieszyn County walked directly in front of a van approaching from the direction of Katowice, driven by a 22-year-old from Opole County. The pedestrian did not have any reflective elements. He died at the scene. The driver of the van was sober at the time of the incident – informs Sgt. Angelika Chałupka from the Cieszyn police.

The activities at the scene lasted several hours. The circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the police under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Bielsko-Biała.
