Russia attacks Ukraine. Poland scrambles fighter jets

There may be an increased noise level over the southeastern part of Poland due to the flight operations of Polish and allied fighters. The planes were scrambled in connection with the activity of Russian long-range aviation and attacks on facilities located in western Ukraine, the Operational Command of the Armed Forces reported.

“This is another very busy night for the entire air defense system in Poland due to the observed activity of long-range aviation of the Russian Federation carrying out strikes on objects located, among others, in the western territory of Ukraine,” it was explained.

The command reported that the last such increased activity of Russian long-range aviation was recorded on the night of September 1 to 2.

“All necessary procedures aimed at ensuring the safety of Polish airspace have been launched, and the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces is monitoring the situation on an ongoing basis,” it was emphasized.
