A 78-year-old resident reported to the police in Płońsk that she had been defrauded and lost several dozen thousand zlotys.

– She explained that she found a website online where there was a form to fill out for people who wanted to earn some extra money for their retirement. She entered her personal data and contact number there. A few days later, she received a call from a man posing as an investment advisor – describes Police Commissioner Kinga Drężek-Zmysłowska from the Płońsk police.

He instructed the woman to initially deposit a few hundred zlotys into an account he had indicated, and she would receive the profits from the investment in a short time. The 78-year-old gave in to his persuasion and deposited 600 zlotys. After a few days, the money was returned to her account, which confirmed her conviction to continue investing.
