Janowski stays in Sparta

– I was at the club's talks, but I didn't feel the enthusiasm or too much interest to continue the cooperation. It's a pity, but that's life. I keep calm because I'm not a child anymore – Janowski lamented in an interview with the media of Red Bull, his sponsor.

Janowski's interview quickly gained notoriety in the speedway community. It was met with a firm reaction from Sparta, which denied the information that it did not see Janowski in its line-up for the new season. On the contrary – it had a ready offer for the Pole, which was waiting to be considered.

Janowski's new contract, however, was dependent on an average run rate of over 2.0 points. – With such a high contract, it shouldn't be surprising – explained Adrian Skubis, club's communications coordinator.

Ultimately, both sides reached an agreement. Sparta announced an extension of the contract with its leader on Wednesday afternoon. “A compromise has been reached. Maciej Janowski remains in Betard Sparta Wrocław! WTS SA is pleased to announce that we have reached a compromise in talks with the captain of Betard Sparta Wrocław – Maciej Janowski. As a result, our club's alumni remains in the team for the 2025 season,” it was written briefly on social media.

Following this announcement, Janowski published a post on social media in which he thanked the fans for their support. He emphasized how important it was for him to stay in Wrocław.

“You make me feel like I'm truly at home. Staying in Wrocław has always been my priority,” we read in the post.

On Sunday, Sparta Wrocław will play the second leg of the semi-final. PGE Ekstraliga with ebut.pl Stal Gorzów. They will defend a two-point lead from the first match. However, the match is uncertain, because in the coming days there will be heavy downpours and storms in the area of ​​Wrocław. Forecasters indicate that almost 400 liters of water per square meter will fall by Monday.
