Fraudsters are taking advantage of the flood and spreading false information on social media about a girl who was carried away by a rushing river – warns CERT Polska. According to experts, this is supposed to be a way to illegally obtain Facebook login data. “Do not provide your login and password” – they appeal.

In a post by CERT Polska on one of the social media platforms, a screenshot was published with information about a girl who was allegedly carried away by a rushing river.

Experts emphasize that this is false information.

“These are scammers taking advantage of the flood and looking for a way to steal FB (Facebook – ed.) login details. The flashy headline directs to a page with a fake login form,” CERT analysts describe.

Don't give your login and password. Don't panic. Report the page to us, then close (screen window – ed.)” – they recommend.

This is yet another case of fraudsters trying to exploit the flood for their illegal activities.

On Tuesday, we reported that scammers were sending fake text messages that imitated alerts from the Government Security Center (RCB) and contained suspicious links. Real alerts did not contain links or requests to click.
