The government has expanded the territory covered by the state of natural disaster to include the following counties: in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship – Dzierżoniów, Lubań and Świdnik, in the Opole Voivodeship – Brzesko, Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Opole and Krapkowice counties – according to a regulation published on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, the regulation of the Council of Ministers amending the regulation on the introduction of a state of natural disaster in the area of parts of the Lower Silesia, Opole and Silesian Voivodeships of 16 September was published in the Journal of Laws.
The territory covered by the state of natural disaster has been extended to include the following counties: in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship – Dzierżoniów, Lubań and Świdnik, in the Opole Voivodeship – Brzesko, Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Opole and Krapkowice County.
During Tuesday's meeting of the crisis team in Wrocław, the head Ministry of Interior and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak announced that the Prime Minister had decided to expand the territory covered by the state of natural disaster.
The regulation will be amended as many times as necessary.
During a later press conference, Siemoniak said that in order to include a district or commune in a state of natural disaster, voivodes must submit an application to include the given areas in the regulation.
The Minister of Interior and Administration assured that the regulation will be amended “as many times as necessary”. “Perhaps excessively, but this is a regulation that allows the services to operate effectively,” he stated.
Siemoniak said that this concerns, for example, the possibility of introducing a ban on entering flood embankments by outsiders. “We are ending the process of entering flood embankments, endangering ourselves, state services, and the quality of the embankments,” he noted.
So far, the following counties are covered by the status of a natural disaster: in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship – the Dzierżoniów, Kamienna Góra, Karkonosze, Kłodzko, Lubań, Lwówek, Świdnik, Wałbrzych and Ząbkowice counties, as well as the cities with county rights of Wałbrzych and Jelenia Góra; in the Opole Voivodeship – the Brzesko, Głubczyce, Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Krapkowice, Nysa, Opole and Prudnik counties; in the Silesian Voivodeship – the Bielsk, Cieszyn, Pszczyna and Racibórz counties as well as the city with county rights of Bielsko-Biała.
