There have been reports in the American media that Duda planned to meet with the former president and Republican candidate in this year's presidential election during his visit to the US – Donald Trump.
Interestingly, the joint meeting was not mentioned in the official program of the visit. Neither the Polish embassy in Washington nor the politician's staff provided any information on the subject. “The meeting has not been arranged, but it is possible that it will take place,” an anonymous official of the presidential office told the media.

As The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reports, Trump plans to appear in Duda's company on Sunday in Pennsylvania. The presence of the Polish president is to constitute “a sign of support from one of his most ardent foreign allies“.
Duda is expected to join the Republican presidential candidate “on the campaign trail at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Częstochowa, a Polish-American Roman Catholic shrine near Doylestown, Pennsylvania,” according to the newspaper.
The daily notes that Pennsylvania is one of the key states in the November elections, and American Polonia constitutes a distinct group of voters. Its importance in the campaign increased further during wars in Ukraine. There are about 700,000 Polish-Americans living in Pennsylvania, making up about 5 percent of the state's population.

“WSJ” recalls that Trump has already hosted several conservative foreign leaders at his Florida resort, including the prime minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán and the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu.
“Duda's decision to join Trump during the election campaign is, however, contrary to conventional practice of foreign leaderswho prefer to stay away from the election race to avoid alienating one of the parties,” the daily emphasizes. The editorial office notes that “Duda and Trump enjoy close relationships since the former president (USA – ed.) took office.”
