During the reinforcement of the embankments in Stradów (Lower Silesia Province), an artillery shell was found. The Ministry of National Defense reported the matter. The unexploded device was recovered by a sapper patrol.
The discovery of the unexploded device took place on Wednesday evening (September 18). The case was reported by Ministry of National Defense via Platform X on Thursday morning (September 19).
“During the reinforcement of flood embankments in the town of Stradów, an artillery shell was discovered, which was picked up by our sapper patrol,” we read.
“The flood not only destroys, but also uncovers what has been hidden underground for many years. Unexploded ordnance, or “rusty death”, as soldiers call it, is a serious threat. Their neutralization is also our task!” – it was written on the X platform.
