On Monday, the Russian government supported a bill to introduce a financial penalty for “promoting the refusal to have children”. The project is similar to that relating to the promotion of same-sex relationships or gender reassignment.

According to Radio Swoboda, for spreading information that speaks positively about not having children, or even spreading neutral information on the subject, Russians will face a fine of up to 100,000 rubles (4.1 thousand PLN).

However, if such information is provided by legal entities, the fine will be much higher – up to one million rubles (approx. PLN 41.3 thousand), additionally these persons will be subject to suspension from work for three months. However, the penalties do not end there. If the promotion of not having children is directed at minors, the fine will be doubled. The Government of the Russian Federation supports the draft law, subject to taking into account the comments in the second reading” – reads a fragment of the document, published by the propaganda agency TASS.
