On Sunday, Prosecutor General Adam Bodnar submitted a request to the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to waive the immunity of Marcin Romanowski – the National Prosecutor's Office announced.

As added, the next session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe starts on Monday.

Earlier, its deputy, KO MP Konrad Frysztak, had already informed the Parliamentary Assembly of the European Council that the request to waive Romanowski's immunity had already been submitted to the Parliamentary Assembly of the European Council. He announced that a vote on this matter would probably take place this week.

On July 16, the District Court for Warsaw-Mokotów did not agree to the arrest of Romanowski – a politician of Sovereign Poland, a member of the club PIS and former deputy head of the Ministry of Justice due to the immunity of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. The National Prosecutor's Office then filed a complaint against this decision, but on September 27 The District Court in Warsaw upheld the decision of the first instance court in this case.

Then, the spokesman for the National Prosecutor's Office, Przemysław Nowak, announced that in the coming days the prosecutor's office would submit a request to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to waive the immunity of MP Romanowski.

Marcin Romanowski – politician of Sovereign Poland, MP of the PiS club, who in 2019-2023 was the deputy head of the Ministry of Justice supervising the Justice Fund – the suspect is, among others, about setting up competitions for money from this fund. The charges against him include the amount of over PLN 112,126,000. zloty.
