The situation of the Niepołomice Forest is getting worse. Tomasz Tułacz's players have been waiting for a league victory since the August match against Lechia Gdańsk (4:1). On Friday, GKS Katowice, one of the newcomers, came to Krakow.
The forest is completely lost. GKS Katowice is definitely better
The beginning of the match belonged to the hosts, but the Katowice team quickly got their act together. Already in the 19th minute, GKS could have won 1-0. Marcin Wasielewski ran into the penalty area from the left side of the pitch, passed Puszcza's defender and fired a shot. 17-year-old Michał Perchel deflected the shot straight at Mateusz Kowalczyk's feet. However, he hit the ball too lightly and Michal Spil'ak managed to knock the ball off the goal line. Two minutes later, Puszcza could have scored a goal. Michał Walski tried to kick the ball directly from the corner kick, but Dawid Kudła – with problems – caught the ball. In the 24th minute, Dawid Abramowicz tried to surprise the goalkeeper in a similar way. However, then one of the GKS defenders headed the ball.
In the 31st minute, GKS Katowice tried to score from a corner kick. And he was effective at it. The Katowice team played the ball briefly, which was then crossed by Alan Czerwiński. There was confusion in the penalty area, and the guests found it best. Mateusz Kowalczyk defeated Puszcza's goalkeeper with a ground shot.
Just 10 minutes later it was 2-0 for GKS Katowice. The defenders of Puszcza Niepołomice were lost again, especially Piotr Mroziński, who kicked the ball straight into Oskar Repka's feet. He passed the ball perpendicularly to Sebastian Bergier, who beat the goalkeeper with a strong shot. The GKS Katowice striker suffered a shoulder injury in this situation, which is why he did not play in the second half.
It could have been 3-0 before the break. In the 44th minute, GKS Katowice launched a great counterattack, but Adrian Błąd missed the ball and missed the net.
The forest was routed. GKS Katowice caught up with Legia in the Ekstraklasa
The hosts played hopelessly and changes did not bring any improvement. In the 57th minute, GKS Katowice scored another goal. Alan Czerwiński sent a very high ball into the penalty area. Bartosz Nowak caught up with her and directed her straight to Oskar Repka. He got the ball and shot straight at the goalkeeper. But that was enough, the ball bounced into the goal and it was 3-0.
Piotr Mroziński had a disastrous performance. In the 72nd minute, Puszcza's defender fouled Marcin Wasielewski in the penalty area. Arkadiusz Jędrych used the number eleven very confidently. Two minutes later… there was another penalty for GKS Katowice. Marcin Wasielewski was fouled again – this time by Konrad Stępień. Bartosz Nowak scored the goal to make it 5-0.
The people of Katowice did not stop there. in the 86th minute, the hosts again showed terrible defense. It started with Jakub Serafin losing the ball to Bartosz Nowak. The unattacked midfielder ran to the penalty area and shot at the post. The ball bounced to Jakub Antczak, whose rebound was stopped by Łukasz Sołowiej. However, Puszcza's defender kicked the ball straight at Antczak's feet, who the second time did not give the defense any chance to intervene effectively. 6:0.
GKS Katowice won confidently. Three points mean that Rafał Górak's players are equal in the table with Legia Warszawa (15 points). Before the season, few people expected that the newcomer from Katowice would have such a soft landing in the top league. And the Niepołomice Forest? After this match, it is only 17th in the top league and is only better than Śląsk Wrocław, which was disastrous this season.
