Norbert Woliński, spokesman for the Warsaw-Praga District Prosecutor's Office, confirms that the prosecutor's office has already received information about the waiver of immunity by MP Adam Szłapka. It's about hitting a 16-year-old cyclist.
However, as the spokesman told us, investigators have not yet announced any charges against the politician.
He kept his word
The accident in Saska Kępa in Warsaw occurred in April 2023. In an interview with tvnwarszawa.pl, the politician assured that after the incident he provided help to the injured person, notified the services and contacted her family. He argued that during police interrogation he did not hide the fact that he was an MP, as some media suggested.
Adam Szłapka announced from the beginning that he would waive his immunity as soon as the case reached the Sejm. So he did.
He emphasized that he would like the matter “to be clarified.” – So I'm waiting for it to happen as soon as possible – he added.
