The Polish national team ended the October training camp with a draw with Croatia (3:3), which, after an unsuccessful match with Portugal (1:3), showed that our team was heading in the right direction. It's far from perfect, there are still too many mistakes, but the path chosen by coach MichaƂ Probierz is the right one. Courage and commitment are already visible, but the rejuvenation process will take some time, and the real verification will only come in the World Championship qualifiers, which start in March 2025. First, however, our team will have two matches in the Nations League: against Portugal in Porto and against Scotland in Warsaw.

Polish national team training camp in Portugal

They will decide about our future in the League of Nations. There are still chances to advance to the play-off phase, but it is more likely that we will have to focus on fighting to stay in division A. This is a primary and very important goal not only for the coach, but also for the Polish Football Association, so it is already prepared there was a special plan for the November training camp. As Sport.pl found out, it will take place not in Warsaw, but in Portugal. The players will have to report to Porto on Monday, November 11, and that is where they will train until the match against the Portuguese national team (November 15). Only then will they fly on a charter flight to Poland, where the match against Scotland will take place (November 18).

This decision of coach MichaƂ Probierz and the PZPN authorities is related not only to the desire to prepare the players as best as possible for the match against Portugal, but also to problems with the availability of training pitches in the vicinity of Warsaw. During the October training camp, our team trained mainly at the Legia Training Center, they had very good conditions, but they had to travel about an hour to each training session from the hotel. – We talked for a long time with President Kulesza and we will do everything to build a training center. We want to create the best possible working conditions for footballers. It seems to me that in a country of 40 million people, we need to get to the point where the team comes and has a place to train, and not that we have to travel an hour to another place. We have two or three ideas and I hope that we will be able to implement them – said the coach at the first conference of the October training camp.

Modern training centers have, among others: the national teams of France, Germany, England and even Wales. The Polish Football Association also wanted to build one, but the Minister of Sport, SƂawomir Nitras, changed Kamil Bortniczuk's decision and withdrew the PLN 300 million promised by his predecessor for this purpose.
