The New York Times published an article in which he cited Donald Trump's threats and warned: “Believe him.” The American daily emphasizes that the Republican presidential candidate intends to fulfill over a hundred “specific threats”, including promises to seek political revenge, use the army, mass deportations and deprive democratic states of aid.
In the article, the editorial board of “The New York Times” quotes extensive quotes from the statements of the Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and repeats that the threats he makes are real and should not be treated solely as the former president's tendency to exaggerate and miss the mark. “Donald Trump has extensively described the dangerous and disturbing steps he intends to take if he wins the presidential election,” the NYT emphasizes.

During his first term, Trump failed to implement some of his plans because there were people in his administration who blocked, delayed or watered down his initiatives so that the president “could not put himself above the law or his country,” we read. As the NYT editorial board warns, Trump has learned from this and intends to surround himself with loyalists who will only obey his orders.
The former president promises that he will order the Ministry of Justice to initiate proceedings against people who criticized him. “Believe him,” the authors of the text repeat.
A hundred threats from Trump
Public radio NPR, which cites “NYT”, calculated that Trump made “specific threats” of “investigations, prosecutions, imprisonment or other penalties” against people such as the president more than 100 times Joe Biden, Kamala Harriscongressmen, judges, prosecutors and others.
Trump has promised to mobilize the National Guard to deport millions of people. His chief adviser, Stephen Miller, said that “militarized detention camps” would be established for immigrants at the border. The daily describes that Trump may try to repeat the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021. He is not the head of state now, so until he takes office he is less dangerous than he was then, but he may again try to incite his supporters to acts of violence.
The former president said he would withhold federal disaster aid from states that vote for Democrats. “These are his own words,” emphasizes the editorial board.

Trump “skeptical” of NATO
In 2018, Trump gave his administration instructions to prepare for the U.S. to leave NATOalthough he was later persuaded – partly by European allies – not to do so. But Trump “remains skeptical” about the Alliance.
Last year, Congress passed a law that prohibits the president from withdrawing the United States from NATO without lawmakers' approval. “But Trump may undermine the Alliance even without formally withdrawing (the country from its structures – editor), for example by reducing the number of troops allocated to NATO,” warns the editorial board.
He also reminds that when John Kelly was the head of the Ministry of National Security in the Trump administration, and James Mattis was his defense minister, both politicians agreed that they could not allow a situation in which both of them were abroad, so that one of them would always be there and could stop the president – reminds “NYT”.
