The police from Szczytno (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship) are looking for the perpetrator of the brutal beating of a priest. A 72-year-old parish priest was attacked in the rectory, and the housekeeper informed the services about the attack. The priest's condition is serious.
The incident occurred after 19 at the rectory in Szczytno. A witness to the event – a housekeeper – alerted the police about the attack.
– The 72-year-old parish priest was beaten very severely and was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He is being provided with medical assistance, his condition is serious, said Emilia Pławska, press officer of the Szczytno police.

Media: the housekeeper defended the parish priest with gas
The spokeswoman said that after the priest was taken to the hospital, police officers arrived at the scene to secure evidence. Actions are also underway to arrest the perpetrator of the attack on the priest.
Pławska said that for the sake of ongoing activities, the police will not reveal details for now. It is also too early to state the perpetrator's motives.
The case was first reported by “Tygodnik Szczytno”. The newspaper reports that the housekeeper allegedly used pepper spray against the perpetrator of the attack, which has not been confirmed by the police at the moment.
