The police entered the house of a couple from Siemiatycze County (Podlasie) and found drugs there. They were both charged with five charges under the Act on Counteracting Drug Addiction, and the man was additionally charged with possessing a firearm without a permit. They face up to 20 years in prison.
The police determined that there may be drugs in one of the single-family houses in the Siemiatycze district.
“During the search of the house, the officers found over seven kilograms of dried herb and items used for processing narcotic drugs. A preliminary test with a drug tester showed that the secured dried herb was marijuana,” we read in a statement on the website of the District Police Headquarters in Siemiatycze.

In the searched rooms of the house, the officers found firearms, firearm components and ammunition.
The couple who lived there, both 36 years old, were detained. According to investigators' findings, the suspects were dealing drugs.

By the court's decision, the man will spend the next three months in custody. The couple faces up to 20 years in prison.
