One person died and three were injured in a fire that occurred on Tuesday evening in a block of flats at ul. Baczyński in Częstochowa. The causes of the incident will be explained by investigators under the supervision of the prosecutor.
Report of a fire in a block of flats at ul. Baczyński in Częstochowa was received by the services on Tuesday, around 10:15 p.m. Six fire brigades intervened on site. Spokesman of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Częstochowa, junior brig. Paweł Liszaj said that after arriving at the scene, firefighters noticed fire coming from the window on the fifth floor of the building, and the fire was extensive. He added that before the services arrived, 25 people left the building on their own.

– Rescuers broke down the doors to the common area of two separate apartments. They found an injured person in the corridor. Two people were evacuated from the apartment next door. All of them were handed over to the emergency medical team, said Junior Brig. Lichen.

Investigators will handle the case
The 60-year-old tenant of the apartment where the fire broke out did not survive the incident. While extinguishing the fire, firefighters found his charred body. The deceased man's wife was also taken to hospital, but her life is not in danger.
The causes of the fire and the circumstances of the man's death will be explained by investigators under the supervision of the prosecutor.
