The 36-year-old driver ended his escape from the police by hitting the wall of a residential building. From there, he went on foot to his house. The police soon knocked on his door.
According to the police, the 36-year-old's driving style indicated that the driver may be under the influence of alcohol. Therefore, the patrol tried to stop him in Dubiecko for inspection, but the man ignored the signals and started running away.
“After driving over a kilometer, the driver lost control of the vehicle, drove off the road onto one of the private properties, where he hit a vehicle parked there and stopped on the wall of a residential building. After the incident, the driver of the Seat fled from the spot,” we read in a statement from the Podkarpacie police.
He heard the charges
The police found the owner of the car and went to his place of residence. They had no doubt that the man who opened the door for them was the driver of the crashed Seat. A breathalyzer test showed that the 36-year-old had more than the permille of alcohol in his body.
“The man will be charged with failing to stop for a road check and driving under the influence of alcohol. He will also not avoid responsibility for the offenses committed. He faces a penalty of up to 5 years in prison,” the police say.
