One year and two months in prison – this was the sentence given to a man who rode up to women he accidentally met on a bicycle and slapped them on the buttocks. He was also responsible for making criminal threats.
The events took place in Szamotuły (Greater Poland Voivodeship). The man was accused of 11 criminal acts. The suspect was accused of violating the physical integrity of five women (acting against some of them several times) and making threats against two of them and one man. On Wednesday, the court sentenced him to one year and two months in prison. The judgment is not yet final.
He slapped his buttocks and exposed himself
The case began in May, when the perpetrator hit a woman on the buttocks, exposed himself and made criminal threats against her.
– District officials also found this type of information on social media. It showed that on Nowowiejski Street, a man rode a bicycle towards the injured party and hit her on the buttocks. Additionally, the man exposed himself and made criminal threats towards the woman – explains senior midshipman Sandra Chuda, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Szamotuły.
Suspicions fell on a 37-year-old resident of the Szamotuły commune. – Initially, the police identified four women who might have encountered this type of situation and contacted them. On the same day, some of them submitted a notification, Chuda reports.
The district officers found the suspect's place of residence and detained him. – The interrogations showed that the man had similarly violated the bodily integrity of five women in total and had made criminal threats against two of them. The incidents took place at the stadium, on Dworcowa Street and on Nowowiejski Street in Szamotuły – says Chuda.
He responded with his free foot
When the evidence in the case was sufficient, the suspect was interrogated and charged with violating the women's bodily integrity and making criminal threats against two of them.
The prosecutor placed the man under police supervision and banned him from contacting or approaching the victims. – During the proceedings conducted under the supervision of the prosecutor's office, the man had additional charges. There was another man against whom the 37-year-old made criminal threats – adds Chuda.
