There was a fire in a passenger car in Rabka-Zdrój (Lesser Poland Voivodeship) on Friday afternoon. A man was lying next to the vehicle, said Sub-Inspector Katarzyna Cisło from the press team of the Małopolska Police. The emergency services called to the scene failed to save him.
– We received a report from random witnesses of the event that a car was on fire in Rabka-Zdrój, at Nowy Świat Street, near the river, and a person was lying next to it – reported Sub-Inspector Cisło. She said that firefighters arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire in the vehicle, but they were unable to help the man.
The police are establishing the identity of the deceased
The spokeswoman added that the vehicle had the registration number of the neighboring Myślenice poviat. The police establish the identity of the man. The district prosecutor from Nowy Targ and police officers from the district headquarters worked on site.
– The man's body was secured for an autopsy at the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Krakow. A firefighting expert will comment on the causes of the fire, added Sub-Inspector Cisło.
