“Make America Great and Healthy Again”

“For too long, Americans have been crushed by … the food industry and pharmaceutical companies that have engaged in fraud, misinformation and misinformation on public health issues. The safety and health of all Americans is the most important concern of any administration, and HHS will play a large role in ensuring that everyone is protected from the harmful chemicals, pollutants, pesticides, pharmaceutical products and food additives that have contributed to the overwhelming health crisis in this country,” the former and future president wrote.

He said Kennedy would “restore” these U.S. agencies to “gold standards in research and transparency” “to end the chronic disease epidemic and make America great and healthy again.”

As Reuters recalled, the Department of Health and Human Services oversees the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health and the massive Medicare and Medicaid Services programs that provide health care to the poor, people 65 and older and those with disabilities.

Anti-vaccination views and medical fake news

Robert Francis Kennedy Jr., 70, is the son of Robert Kennedy, former United States Attorney General, and nephew of President John F. Kennedy. His family has been involved in American politics for generations.

He was publicly known for his work as a lawyer dealing with environmental issues and for his many years of anti-vaccination activities. Despite family ties, almost all members of the Kennedy clan opposed his candidacywho supported Kamala Harris. They spoke critically about his views on health and medicine.

– He sells the family name and fame. Spreads conspiracy theories. He stirs up conflicts and does it only for personal gain. I listened to what he said. I know him. I can't understand how anyone could think he should be president. His candidacy is embarrassing to me, said Jack Schlossberg – John F. Kennedy's grandson – in the spring, when the campaign was underway.

As Reuters, which describes the nomination, emphasizes, Kennedy Jr. has long been criticized for spreading fake news and undermining scientific facts in the field of medicine.

He said, among other things, that “vaccines are linked to autism, he was against state and federal bans during the COVID-19 pandemic and was accused of disinformation about the virus (SARS-CoV-2 – ed.),” writes the agency.

The politician himself says he is not anti-vaxxer and wants more rigorous vaccine testing, but he was president of the nonprofit Children's Health Defense, which “focuses on anti-vaccination message“- adds Reuters.

Kerry Kennedy – attorney and sister of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. – released a statement at a similar time, which read: “I strongly condemn my brother's deplorable, false statements regarding the coronavirus pandemic, suggesting that COVID-19 was designed to attack specific ethnic groups. Neither I nor the Robert F. Kennedy Foundation for Human Rights share these views and will always oppose racism and all forms of discrimination.”

In March, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. gave an interview in which he expressed doubts whether measles vaccines had any effect.

The measles virus is one of the most dangerous to humans and has led to the death of countless populations over the centuries – regardless of the region of the world.
